That’s what it all comes down to. If you want anything in life, it’s up to you to find a way to go get it.

No one is going to do it for you. Don’t wait for the government or your bosses or your spouse to tell you what to do or give your their approval to take action. Just go do something to move you closer to your goal.

If you’re not getting the results you want today, look at what you’re doing now and find a way to do something different. As the saying goes, “if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.”

Blog. Use Twitter. Get connected at LinkedIn. Go to local networking events. Hire a marketing coach. Change your advertising.
• If you want to get a new job, take action to find one. Start looking today. Update your resume. Sign up and post your resume at Dice, HotJobs, Monster, Careerbuilder. If you’re looking for a six figure job, try TheLadders or SixFigureJobs. Study prospective employers. Hire a career coach. If your skills are out-of-date, take the initiative to learn the ones you need.
• If you want to start your own business, do it. Now is a great time to become a freelance technical consultant. Write a simple business plan. Study your potential market. It’s All About Your Choices

The bottom line is that everything you get in life is determined by the actions you take and choices you make. Where you are at today is the result of actions you’ve taken and choices you’ve made throughout your life.
